Background
Following their lease renewal within 367 Collins Street, Melbourne, Sportsbet wanted to refurbish their 7,700sqm tenancy to provide their staff with a modern and flexible workspace. This major office refurbishment has seen 7-levels of existing space redesigned to create more usable areas, including meeting rooms, collaboration hubs and upgraded amenities. With the new way of working considered, a key goal was to create an office feel which was more conducive for collaboration and online meetings while maintaining an open office layout for staff.
A vital feature of the project was the creation of the ‘Presentation Floor’ on level 15. This floor included a feature ‘track’ with continuous pendent light above, boardroom and ‘stage’’ and ‘stadium’ areas for presentations and events.
Scope of Service
GJ were engaged to deliver project management and superintendent services to the project. Our services included programming, procurement, coordination of consultants, chairing PCGs, advice on buildability and project governance and defect management. A key task our team was tasked with was the development of the project budget, ensuring maximum value would be obtained for Sportsbet and that it wouldn’t be exceeded.
Throughout the project, our team were required to work through several challenges, including delivery during covid lockdowns and government restrictions and scope changes. This called for the entire consultant team and contractor to work harmoniously throughout all phases of the project.
