Scope of Service
Gallagher Jeffs was appointed by Mentone Grammar School to proceed with the design and construction of a new Performing Arts Centre, located at the school’s Mentone Campus in Mentone, Victoria.
The Arts Centre includes various studios with a 450-seat performance theatre over two levels, catering for Music, Drama, Technology, Dance and Creative Arts.
Responsible for the appointment of the design consultants, cost planning, design management and facilitating the preparation of town planning documentation, Gallagher Jeffs implemented the following:
- Establishment of a Project management Plan
- Maintained regular meetings for the entire duration of the project
- Provide regular client reporting
- Cost reporting
For a project of this size and scale within a live operating environment, it was critical to develop strategies in conjunction with the school for clear construction site delineation; with areas such as pedestrian access and vehicle deliveries, as well as the need to investigate the possibility of suspending construction works during exam periods.
