Following the completion of a Master Plan for each of its metropolitan campuses, Caulfield Grammar School embarked on the implementation of a multi-modal learning space to each of their three metropolitan campuses. Some of the key design aspects, revolved around visibility of learning at all times, a variety of learning spaces for engagement across all year levels and a high level of AV engagement for staff and students alike.
As with any project there are key areas of consideration that will affect the approach to project development. In this case, budget, timing, flexibility and minimal impact to the school’s daily operations were critical. For these reasons, it was decided that a design based around modular construction be adopted.
The modules were constructed off-site over a four month period, delivered and installed in one day, with the internal and external finishes being completed within four weeks from delivery.
Another benefit of modular construction, is the ability for Caulfield Grammar School to decant and relocate these buildings to other campuses should this be required in the future.
