Project Background
The site for the new Officer Learning precinct includes a state of the art Specialist School and new Secondary College. The Learning precinct was a green field development, to accommodate a growing need for secondary education schools within the area. It will cater for over 1,200 students.
Located 49kms from the CBD in the satellite city of Officer, the project was delivered over two stages.
Stage 1 included the construction of the multi-mode Officer Specialist School. The Specialist School will educate students with diverse learning needs aged between five to eighteen years. The school has been master-planned to accommodate 128 Special Development Students and 144 Specialist School Students.
Stage 2 of the project included the construction of a new Secondary College. The Architects, Clarke Hopkins Clarke worked closely with the school community to create spaces, which promote and encourage lifelong learning while nurturing individual student’s needs. The project also included publicly accessed spaces, which will enable wider community engagement.
