Project background
Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak is a Catholic school for approximately 1,000 girls from Prep to
Year 12 with a co-educational Early Learning Centre at St Peter’s Parish, Toorak. The proposed
Learning Resource Centre, to be known as the Mandeville Centre, has been designed in
accordance with the 1999 Incorporated Master Plan.
The new building will be sited adjacent
to the historically significant Mandeville Hall and Chapel.
The Mandeville Centre will provide Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak with:
- A Year 12 Centre of excellence
- Learning Resources Hub - a shared hub for years Prep to 12
- Staff Study and Common Room - an enhanced workplace for Staff
- Administration – gateway and greeting to the campus
- Basement car parking
The built form will be varied, and has been designed to provide deep overhangs and sun
shading to the west and north. Metal screening at upper levels provide western shading.
These design details contribute to achieving a building design that is responsive to
environmentally sustainable design practice.
